Why It Feels Different from Scuba
Scuba diving and freediving both take us underwater, but the experiences differ sharply.
Scuba gives more time underwater through tanks and regulators, suited to longer exploration. There is a trade-off: constant bubble noise, gear weight on your back, and a technical distance between you and the sea.
Freediving removes all of that. No mechanical sound, no bubbles interrupting the quiet. What remains is you, your own movement, and a sea that responds to silence. Marine life often becomes calmer and closer when no foreign noise fills the water.
